A Shuttered Passages Sonnet
In the silence of the winter's firm decree, The once-trod paths lay hushed beneath the moon. A lull upon the breeze, where whispers flee, And footfalls scarce dare to impart a tune. The vigilant night with her frosty veil, Draws lines unseen, where dreams and shadows merge. Yet, patient time will tell another tale, When thawing hearts towards the horizon urge.
